Public menace

*In Post-Production

Skaters were considered a menace to society during the 70s in Norway, leading to a ban on skateboards in the 80s. Nevertheless, a few kids and teenagers kept the sport alive, smuggling boards across the border, building ramps, learning tricks, and running away from the police.

The documentary delves into the skateboarding ban through the firsthand experiences of Bjarne and Rune, who began skating during this contentious period. By intertwining their personal narratives with archival footage and VHS reconstructions, the film captures the essence of that era. The decision to shoot reconstructions on VHS was deliberate, as it aimed to seamlessly blend them with the existing archive material.
